Autumn Leaves

As summer comes to an end, and autumn starts to show its leaves, my wardrobe insanity comes to an end. Say goodbye to the super bright colours. Goodbye to the crazy prints. And goodbye to the ‘leaving the house without a jacket’ moments.
My wardrobe has officially become boring again. However… don’t you fear I have a new fashion obsession to share today!!!! Et voila! Here it is!

This time I was inspired by the colour leaves turn as they leave their green state; a lovely burgundy/orangey colour; the colour of fire, love and dark secrets. And so this mood board was born.

As you can see the overall outfit looks sexy but tough at the same time. You can wear it in the morning to college/work/interview stuff, then swap the sneakers for some hot heels and open up the jacket to reveal the lovely see through chiffon for a sexier, edgier evening look.

The makeup that you wear with this look would also determine the overall feel and persona you give off to people; for the day I would keep it natural with some foundation and gloss, but later on in the day I would apply some black eyeliner and generous amounts of mascara, followed by some deep red/burgundy lipstick.

Personally I would only wear this outfit if I had something going on in the evening and had no time to go home and change.  If I wanted to make the look more casual I would instead swap the dress for some black jeans and a cute panda shirt! naww pandas!

The dress I chose was from HM (Dress with chiffon details), the jacket you can find practically anywhere, (I found this gorgeous one just last week in a market! woop for bargain buys!), the bag from Deichman and the shoes from All-star.

So what has been your fashion obsession lately? would you ever wear this outfit?

June Favourites!

Hello there!
Time for a monthly favourite! Wahey! I know these monthly favourites haven’t been consistent, but oh well… the months pass by so fast that I don’t even have time to actually find something new that I liked that deserves to be discussed. But having just said that... HERE IT IS!!

Beauty favourites;
I have only been using 3 things that I think deserve to be raved about lately. The first one is the L’Oreal triple active velvety toner, which my mum had bought and abandoned. I decided one day to give the poor toner a chance to prove its worth to me and in the end I ended up finding it absolutely amazing. It has an amazing texture and sits on the skin beautifully. It also makes your skin look super healthy and gives it a freshened look.

The second product is the arm and hammer ‘advanced white’ baking soda toothpaste, which I was really sceptical about because I had heard about how bad baking soda is for your teeth, but after I had tried this bad boy out for two weeks, I was in love! I have now actually found toothpaste that does what it says, makes your teeth whiter!! I absolutely recommend this to anyone and everyone one out there whose teeth aren’t as white as they want them to be.

And finally, my last favourite is the Collection extreme 24 hours felt tip liner, which I think has already featured once in my favourites, but I think it deserves to be mentioned again. My love for this product has just been growing and growing and I just find it amazing… no words can describe the feelings I have for it…

Random favourites;
I’m just going to jump right into the deep end!
Favourite movies- Iron man 3, my sister’s keeper & a walk to remember.
These movies are amazing. Robert Downey Junior is a legend. Me crying in a movie is rare. There is nothing more I can say.
Favourite TV show- this is going to sound so sad and weird but… The apprentice.
Favourite food- bananas!
Favourite youtubers- Lana McKissack, chester see, nigahiga, bananajamana, polandbananas20, bfvsgf and zoella. As you might be able to tell I watch a lot of youtube…

And that is the end of my monthly favourites!! Thanks for reading guys! What have you been loving lately? Any amazing movies you want to recommend to us?
Stay beautiful!

Natural Ways To Lighten Your Hair!

I have for some time been trying to make my hair lighter without having to dye it or use any harmful chemicals on it. So I did some research and I have found two, tried and tested ways to lighten your hair naturally using household ingredients. However when you are trying to make your hair lighter naturally you have to keep in mind that things like these take some time and patience and that you have to repeat the treatments for it to be a visible change.

1.       honey and cinnamon

(DO NOT USE IF YOU HAVE AN ALLERGY TO CINNAMON)

The first way is a nice and easy mask for your hair, which I have found to work amazingly as a deep hair conditioner and as a hair lightener at the same time. There are three ingredients you need for this; honey, cinnamon and hair conditioner.

To make this, all you need to do is mix the ingredients together in a bowl and apply to clean dry hair. Then you should cover your hair using (clean!) plastic bags and a turban towel. Leave this on for about 6 to 7 hours or overnight, obviously the longer the better! Afterwards wash as usual

Honey contains vitamins, minerals, is antibacterial, acts as a humectant (attracts moisture), and has incredible healing properties. It is a naturally good conditioner and moisturizer because of its ability to attract and retain water molecules.  Cinnamon helps with removing impurities from the hair and scalp and also promotes hair growth further. It also leaves your hair smelling AMAZING, like little cinnamon rolls! YUMM!

2.       Lemon hair spray!

This next one is great for summer, and is incredibly cheap. It only requires one ingredient… LEMONS! All you need to do for this one is juice one lemon and place it in a spray bottle. This next step is completely optional, but I like to then add my favourite leave in conditioner (Aussie luscious long leave in conditioner) and shake it up. This is done in equal amounts so for every 100ml of lemon juice, I add 100ml of leave in conditioner.

When I come out of the shower and have semi dried my hair with a towel, I then like to spray it into my hair and brush it through with a wide toothed comb. Then just ‘chill’ in the sun outside. HOWEVER, if the sun is not available, like it isn’t in the UK, just blow-dry your hair.

Hopefully this has helped or given you some ideas! Thanks for reading and make sure you tell us in the comments if you have tried any of these and/ or you would like to try it!
Stay beautiful.

Monthly fashion obsession #2

HELLO! I figured it was time I did another fashion obsession post, not because my last obsession has finished, but because I can feel my brain switching its self to summer and bright colour mode! (Even though it’s still cold outside In England… sad times...)

Most of the things I am going to mention are from H&M, SO BE WARNED.  The first thing on my list is this beautiful colourful Aztec print tube top (from H&M), that’s only £4.99,which is great because you can mix and match it with loads of things to add a pop of colour and craziness to the outfits!

I have chosen to pair this beautiful top, with Harem pants (also from H&M), because I feel it complements the tight top, and makes the outfit look a bit less stiff and formal, and a bit more comfy and playful. Those beautiful sandals (can you guess were from? you guessed it right... H&M!), and that matching bag (this time from peacocks), I think go so well with the outfit, and just scream summer to me!

And lastly, a simple shrug for when it gets chilly, some bangles (bracelets) and a beautiful nail varnish to polish it all off… get it… nail POLISH… hahahaha...

Anyways… what have you been obsessing over lately? Would you ever wear this outfit?

APRIL FAVOURITES!!

Wow April has really gone by fast (and I’m not saying that because I’m pretending to be older and wiser, but because it actually has!). April represents so many wonderful things, like the sun and being able to walk out of the house without a jacket, at last!

For my favourites this month I only have some small bits and bob which you can find anywhere on the high street, and nothing too fancy. The first product is something I don’t actually own YET but I’m planning to get very soon. It’s this AMAZING Barry M nail polish in papaya, which is the perfect pastel-peachy-nude colour for the summer/April/jacketless weather!

The next thing is this ‘forever living’ lip balm which I am ADDICTED to right now. It has the most amazing consistency ever and last for the whole day, unless you lick it off (obviously). These are quiet hard to get by, but I’m sure you can order them online with the rest of their amazing products.

The last two products I’ll talk about in this post is the ‘simple’ toner and light moisturizer, which I use every day (and have been using for the last year and a half, I think!). They are truly the most amazing lightweight face products I have EVER used. They are amazing for tweens and teens that are just starting to form a daily face care routine and want something light, effective and easy to apply. The consistencies are amazing and the products contain no perfume, no colour and no harsh chemicals so it doesn’t harm the skin and makes it great for those with sensitive skin. They are also enriched with vitamin B5 (which restores, soften and soothes skin), chamomile, witch hazel (which tightens and closes pores) and allantoin (which soften and protects). Amazing huh?

Thanks for reading guys! Any favourites you want to rave about?Xxx

#1 monthly fashion obsession!

This month (in my slightly obsessive mind) is all about khaki greens and leather accessories. Maybe I’m a bit late for this trend but I have been in love with this sleeveless V-necked H&M dress; it’s so pretty and at an acceptable length! I find it feminine but a little bit tough, which is great for all those girls out there who aren’t all pink and fluffy!!

Continuing on with the ‘tough’ look I decided that it would go great with a cropped leather jacket, (which is far too expensive for me :( ), some black suede lace up shoe boots, a suede clutch, and lastly to ward off the non-existent British sun, tinted sunglasses!

Anyone else share my khaki green dress obsession? have you got any weird new fashion obsessions lately?

Product review!

Product Review!!

Recently I went out to the high street and purchased a couple of things I’d wanted to try out for a while. Most of the products were cheap and affordable.
The first thing I bought was the MUA lipstick, shade 4. It’s a pity these products don’t have names as the quality of this lipstick is amazing. It’s so creamy and well pigmented, that I sometimes find myself forgetting to apply lip balm beforehand. It’s also extremely affordable costing only £1.00! This particular shade is a soft peach colour that would suit many skin tones and is a perfect spring colour too!
Another product I bought is the maybelline collosal volume mascara, which I bought for £7.19 from superdrug. I like this mascara but its nothing I would rave about. I regret not buying the water proof version as this easily smudges if you get into any contact with water. Apart from that though its good for extra volume and to make your lashes look fuller and longer. Its also fairly clump free and the packaging is cute!
I also got the new amazing Barry M nail gelly effect varnish, which I’ve been wanting for ages now! I got it in green berry, which is a lovely mint green, perfect for spring/summer, because it looks like the sea! I put it on not too soon and it did last for quite a while (5 days) without chipping or peeling, considering I had no top coat on! However if I did have top coat on it would have probably lasted for longer than 12 days!
The last product I will be talking about is the MUA cream blush in bittersweet, which looks super florecent pink in the packaging but is more of a soft pink on application! Usually cream blusher can be doubled up as a lipstain too, but I wouldn’t recommend that when using this certain product. It can look really dried and cheap on the lip.
And that’s the lot! Thanks for reading!
Have you owned any of these products? And what did you think?

‘the boy no one loved’ by Casey Watson book review

‘the boy no one loved’ by Casey Watson

image
‘Casey Watson is a specialist foster carer and an author at the same time. As a specialist foster carer she works with profoundly damaged children, seeing each child through a specific behavioural modification programme, at the end of which they will hopefully be in the position to be returned either back to their family or into mainstream foster care.’

When it comes to books about abused and abandoned children, I always seem to be quite sceptical. I seem to think that they all tend to be quite extreme and the characters always out of hand. However this book completely changed my mind about these books. I think this is an amazing book for both girls and boys, in their mid-teens, who are looking for an emotional book to read. It’s very easy to read and easy to understand and has such a gripping story to go with it, so it’s great if your just getting into books (again).

The book highlights the problems that our society faces today with child abuse and abandonment and how small things make a big difference. As a teenager one of the things that I really want to do when I’m older is adopt a child, as I believe that every child has the right to live life like any other and to try and find un-conditional love where others have failed to provide it.

The book also shows how strong and patient foster families are and how hard fostering actually is. Children and parents (and some teenagers like me who still watch cbbc!) are constantly being given an idea that care homes and foster families are all “happily ever after”, in the TV programs that are aired such as ‘Tracy beaker’ and ‘the dumping ground’, and when in actual fact they really aren’t.

One more thing that also made me choose this book to read (apart from the fact that I bought it for £1.00!) is that all Casey Watson’s books are real and they have happened before to countless children all over the world.
Has anyone read this book before? And what did you think of it?
